Canoe/kayak trip on Wambaw Creek. Wambaw is a Federally designated wilderness area within the Frances Marion National Forest. We’ll paddle from Still Landing to historic Hampton Plantation State Park and maybe explore an old rice canal or two along the way. A great example of a swamp forest, formerly cleared and diked for rice cultivation in the 18th and 19th centuries, now reverted back to its original state.
