With newly cleared trails leading into the future preserve\, it’s also a great opportunity to care for these spaces early on\, encouraging responsible use and long-term stewardship. Bring a friend\, your neighbors\, or your business team and help us clean up this community site! \nAdvance registration is required. All cleanup supplies will be provided. Popular Johns Island yoga studio Everybody Zen will lead the group\, incorporating a blend of breath and movement into the rejuvenating\, hour-long session. Beginners are welcome to attend as modifications for more complex poses will be demonstrated. \nYoga at the Angel Oak is the final experience of MUSC and SC7’s Adventure Out initiative. The week-long event series aims to encourage outdoor recreation. Exercising outdoors has many additional benefits to traditional indoor fitness activities\, including improved stress management\, self-esteem and mood\, and a sense of well-being. The Yoga at the Angel Oak experience will bring together nature\, conservation\, mind\, and body.  \nThe free Yoga at the Angel Oak event will allow locals to experience a sample of programming offered at the future preserve. SUMMARY:Lowcountry Earth Week: Angel Oak Preserve Clean Up
DESCRIPTION:Community members are invited to explore and clean up the 35-acre property owned by Lowcountry Land Trust that surrounds the Angel Oak Tree on Johns Island. This land sits between Maybank Highway and Bohicket Road and is the home to the future Angel Oak Preserve.  \nThe clean-up will occur on Wednesday\, April 19\, at the Angel Oak Tree on Johns Island. It will begin promptly at 10 am\, and registration is required. Please dress weather-appropriate and bring a water bottle\, sunscreen\, and bug spray. We also recommend wearing sturdy shoes and long sleeves/pants. Please note there are some areas with poison ivy on the property. \nLowcountry Earth Week is a collaborative initiative of over 40 local conservation organizations taking place from April 15-22\, 2023. The week-long celebration of the region’s natural beauty and resources features a variety of clean-ups\, festivals\, nature activities\, and workshops.  It will conclude with a family-friendly tabling event at Holy City Brewing on Earth Day (4/22). You can find a full list of events and activities by clicking here. \nVolunteers of Earth Week events are invited to join us for a complimentary pint voucher courtesy of Holy City Brewing on Earth Day\, April 22\, 2023\, from 12 to 4 pm. The celebration will take place on the brewery’s marsh-front lawn and feature a conservation fair of participating organizations. Earth Week event participants will check in near the brewery entrance to get their vouchers. Additionally\, brewery guests are welcome to browse the tabling event on the lawn and learn more about the conservation-minded organizations participating in Lowcountry Earth Week.
