Community Plant Tour

Join Mount Pleasant Waterworks for a Community Plant Tour at our Henry Clay Duffie Water Resource Facility. Explore our wastewater treatment process and learn about the steps we take to treat wastewater before releasing it back into the environment. During the tour, you’ll learn about the processes that ensure the wastewater we treat is safe before going back into the environment, explore our on-site laboratory to see how we test and monitor water quality, and discover the critical role MPW plays in environmental stewardship.

Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 9 years old or in 4th grade.

Safety Requirements: All participants must wear closed-toe shoes and adhere to safety guidelines. Physical Activity: The tour involves walking and climbing a flight of stairs.

Liability Release: Participants must sign a liability release form prior to the tour.

Weather Conditions: Tours are weather-dependent and may be canceled in case of rain.

Spaces are limited to 25 participants, so be sure to secure your spot by signing up via the online form. We can’t wait to share how MPW works to protect the environment and serve our community!
