RESCHEDULED Date: Thursday, December 19, 2024
Time: 10 am – 11:30 am
Location: Gold Bug Island, 1560 Ben Sawyer Blvd, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464
Conch Creek has been protected by Lowcountry Land Trust since 2022 and encompasses 398 acres between Mount Pleasant and Sullivan’s Island. The acres are mostly wetlands (with approximately 5 acres of highlands) that provide habitat for breeding, migration, and wintering migratory birds in the coastal zone of South Carolina.
As human infrastructure continues to be built along the surrounding highland, Lowcountry Land Trust’s conservation efforts will maintain the integrity of the wetlands, which help mitigate potential flooding and protect water quality in the area. By joining us for the cleanup, your efforts will advance our mission in a tangible way by keeping the marsh clean!
We suggest dressing for the weather, including long pants and comfortable shoes that can get muddy. Depending on the weather, please plan to bring a water bottle, bug spray, and sunscreen. We will meet and park at Gold Bug Island, then head out along Ben Sawyer Boulevard. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled. We look forward to seeing you in the marsh!
