TIME CHANGE: Oyster Shell Bagging

December 15, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Update: Unfortunately, tomorrow’s weather forecast is calling for rain in the early morning. Rather than canceling all together, we have decided to change the event time to 10:30am – 12:30pm. We hope that you’ll still be able to make it!

Join Lowcountry Land Trust and Charleston Waterkeeper to help DNR’s South Carolina Oyster Restoration and Enhancement (SCORE) Program prep bags of oyster shell for building reefs next summer. Volunteers will also be able to help plant Spartina seedlings for the Seeds to Shoreline project. This is a great alternative for those looking for a lower impact option. Volunteers are welcome to participate in one or both activities!

Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes and clothes you do not mind getting dirty. SCORE will provide water, gloves, sunscreen, first aid, and bug spray. We encourage volunteers to be eco-friendly and bring a refillable bottle, as there will be a water cooler available.
