OYSTER SHELL RECYCLING AT LOWCOUNTRY OYSTER FESTIVAL

We’re teaming up with Coastal Conservation Association SC to collect shells at the Lowcountry Oyster Festival at Boone Hall, a Lowcountry Land Trust protected property. All shells collected at this event will be recycled through DNR’s oyster shell recycling program and will eventually be used to prep bags of oyster shell for building reefs with DNR’s SCORE program.

Volunteers will receive complimentary admission to the Lowcountry Oyster Festival, a volunteer t-shirt, as well as a delicious Lowcountry lunch, with their two hour volunteer shift. Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothes you do not mind getting dirty. We encourage volunteers to be eco-friendly and bring a reusable water bottle for drinking.
