Lowcountry Land Trust is excited to partner with our friends at the National Park Service to help in the clean-up efforts on the Sullivan’s Island! Beach Sweep has been Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park’s largest one-day volunteer environmental stewardship event for 30 years! Each September, hundreds of volunteers help clear Sullivan’s Island beaches of harmful debris, protecting our local community and its rich natural resources.
All volunteers need to complete a volunteer agreement form. More details can be found on the NPS’s website here.
Volunteers will meet at the Fort Moultrie Visitor Center to pick up supplies and be briefed on the importance of the beach sweep and the objectives of the event. Volunteers are responsible for bringing their own gloves.Groups will be given data cards and trash bags.
This event is part of the South Carolina Beach Sweep/River Sweep event. For more information on South Carolina’s Beach Sweep click here.
