2025 Spring Gathering at Plum Hill – Photo Gallery

At the beginning of April on a perfectly sunny day, over 400 people gathered in the heart of the ACE Basin for Lowcountry Land Trust’s 2025 Spring Gathering.

Former Trustee Dr. Ann Kulze and her large family (Gregorie) generously hosted the event at their 945-acre multi-generational property, Plum Hill. Protected forever by a Lowcountry Land Trust easement, it was the perfect backdrop for a springtime celebration of conservation.

Guests gathered to enjoy a healthy harvest meal by Peculiar Pig, soak in the ACE Basin views, and raise a glass to conservation. Highlights of the event included home and garden tours of the property led by Lucie and Ann Kulze, and rice culture talks led by Virginia Beach. The Gregorie family has intentionally maintained two hundred inland acres of sweeping handmade rice fields on the property, a true testament to the family’s dedicated stewardship of the land. Even the fresh flower arrangements at the event were sourced on the property and created by Ann’s daughter, Lucie.

Guests placed bids in a competitive silent auction with over 50 Lowcountry-inspired items and experiences, enjoyed meaningful remarks from staff and board members, and played in the kids’ zone, featuring a quintessential rope swing overlooking the water. Everyone who attended the Spring Gathering, young or mature, from near or far, and family or guests showcased their zeal, understanding, and love for the Lowcountry.

Lowcountry Land Trust extends a huge thank you to Ann Kulze and the Gregorie family for their generous hospitality. We also thank the 40 volunteers who assisted in many aspects of the event, from parking to kids’ activities and tours to compost sorting stations. Finally, to each guest and their families, thank you for celebrating with us. Community is truly at the heart of conservation!

We invite you to view the gallery of photos that capture the beauty and camaraderie of the 2025 Spring Gathering.
