Explore, Protect, and Give Back During Fourth Annual Lowcountry Earth Month

Lowcountry Land Trust invites residents across Charleston to take part in Lowcountry Earth Month this April. Now in its fourth year, Lowcountry Earth Month is a collaborative initiative to connect people with nature, community, and conservation efforts throughout the Lowcountry and the places they love most.

Back by popular demand, Lowcountry Earth Month brings together over 50 organizations across the South Carolina coast to offer a wide range of opportunities for residents to connect, protect, and learn about the environment. From oceanfront cleanups on Folly Beach and Isle of Palms to oyster reef builds, bird walks, family-friendly nature festivals, and educational tours of environmental facilities, the month-long initiative makes it easy for individuals and families to get involved in ways that fit their interests.

The impact of this initiative continues to thrive each year. In 2025, for example, more than 3,200 volunteers participated in events throughout the month, contributing to efforts such as litter removal, tree and native plant giveaways, and more. For locals, Lowcountry Earth Month offers a chance to try something new, meet like-minded neighbors, and deepen their understanding of conservation in the Lowcountry. Whether attending an educational session, volunteering at a cleanup, or exploring a new outdoor space, each event provides an opportunity to make a tangible impact.

Visit LowcountryEarthMonth.org to view the full calendar of events, add events, and sign up to participate throughout the month.
