Lowcountry Land Trust’s 2026 Sporting Clays Shoot presented by Norfolk Southern will be held once again at Brosnan Forest from Friday, October 23, to Sunday, October 25. The annual fundraiser is Lowcountry Land Trust’s most anticipated event and features a professionally set, 14-station course that captures the camaraderie and spirit of this sport. Garden & Gun is the national media partner of the 2026 Sporting Clays Shoot.
Lowcountry Land Trust is grateful for the guidance and partnership of the many local experts who make the annual Sporting Clays Shoot successful:
- Throughout the weekend, the dedicated Brosnan Forest staff, led by Joel Wells, volunteers their precious free time as clay trappers, station scorers, and knowledgeable naturalists, helping guests learn something new at every turn. It cannot be overstated that the efficiency, safety, and uniqueness of this event would not be possible without the fiscal support of Norfolk Southern and the expertise and professionalism of the Brosnan Forest team.
- David Holliday, a Level II National Sporting Clays Association Certified Instructor, is pivotal in creating and maintaining the spectacular, one-of-a-kind clays course tucked among the longleaf pines. His attention to detail offers a range of targets, with each station presenting a unique challenge and view of Brosnan Forest’s vast acreage.
- Members of the Fourth Thursday Shooting Club, in addition to volunteering their time as clay trappers and station scorers, lead the required safety briefing before each rotation to ensure all participants feel empowered and aware while on the course.
Safety & Training:
Before joining Lowcountry Land Trust at Brosnan Forest, we strongly encourage all participants to practice firearm safety and technique, utilizing the many expert resources available, such as the National Sporting Clays Association instructor list to find certified instructors of various levels in our area. The annual Sporting Clays Shoot is scored, and the winners of each rotation will be awarded trophies (and bragging rights) at the post-shoot social.
