It’s spring cleaning time! It’s the first day of spring, so no better excuse to conduct an island-wide cleanup of the fourth-largest island on the US East Coast.
Litter isn’t just an eyesore; it’s a threat to our wildlife and beautiful landscapes. From plastic in our waterways to trash on our roads, litter impacts our quality of life and local ecosystem. Let’s take pride in our community and work together to restore it’s natural charm.
Volunteers will help pick up litter and debris from along our roadways and waterways. This event will be conducted along Main Road and River Road. The Charleston Police Department will be on site to ensure the event is safe. Volunteers should wear close-toed shoes and comfortable clothing they wouldn’t mind if got a little dirty.
There will be prizes for volunteers on site, so come on out and help us clean up our home! This event is a part of the Greatest Charleston Cleanup event series. Partners include Adopt-A-Highway and Palmetto Pride.
