MR. DAVID MAYBANK, III
Maybank Industries
Chairman

David is a Charleston native with a degree from the University of the South and a MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia. He is the president of Maybank Properties LLC in Charleston, a commercial real estate company that owns, manages and leases a variety of Charleston commercial real estate, especially industrial warehouses and distribution facilities. David continues the legacy of his mother, Louise Maybank, a founding member and former chair of the Trust. His family owns Lavington Plantation in the ACE Basin that shares a conservation easement with the Trust.

MR. R. SCOTT WALLINGER
MeadWestvaco, Retired
Vice-Chairman

Scott is a Virginia native with forestry degrees from North Carolina State and Yale Universities.

After time in landowner assistance and wood procurement for the Charleston mill, he managed Westvaco’s Forest Resources Division. As a senior vice president, he oversaw forestry, export sales and a Brazilian paper and packaging company. He is past chair of American Forestry Association, American Pulpwood Association, and Forest History Society and served on Boards of the Society of American Foresters, Council of the Americas, NC State Forestry Foundation and The Charleston Museum. He co-founded The Forests Dialogue to foster international dialogue among leaders of the forest industry, private forest owners, and conservation organizations. He is a Board member since July 2015.

MR. ROBERT M. BALDWIN
Baldwin CPA
Treasurer

Bob is a Georgia native and graduated from the University of Georgia with degrees in business and accounting. A Certified Public Accountant, he is a principle in a local accounting firm following earlier experience with Ernst & Whitney and Ernst & Young. Bob is a Certified Financial Planner and Accredited Financial Planner. He has served as a Board member and vice president of the South Carolina Board of Accountancy and is a past president of the South Carolina Association of CPAs. Bob is an expert on taxation and business strategy with specialties in Financial Planning, Real Estate Taxation, Estate and Tax Planning, Income and Property Tax Planning and SC Business License Planning.

MR. THOMAS D.W. HUTTO
The GEL Group
Secretary

Tom is a Principal of GEL Engineering, LLC that provides full-service environmental consulting, engineering, land and hydrographic surveying, and industrial hygiene and emission testing services. Tom has a BS in Geology from the College of Charleston and a Master’s in Geology from the University of Georgia. Prior to joining GEL Engineering in 1987, Tom taught geology at the College of Charleston. He serves as Mayor Pro Tem of the Town of Meggett and is on the Board of the Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester Council of Government and is on the Charleston Community Development Advisory Board.
